[Outpatient psychological trauma and grief care]

To help you take a step forward from loss or change caused by the death or separation of a loved one, as well as grief caused by psychological trauma.

We care for people suffering from all kinds of changes, loss, or grief. This includes visible changes (death from disease, accidental death, divorce, advancement at work, marriage, giving birth, etc.) and invisible changes (death of a child, suicide, homicide, job loss, infertility, substance abuse, disability, social withdrawal, etc.).

We are here to accompany the bereaved (family member, partner, friend, colleague, etc.) as they continue to walk on.

Psychological trauma is defined as an experience of psychological shock that threatens or actually results in death, such as severe injury and sexual assault.(Examples include natural disasters, physical assault, severe sexual assault, severe accidents, war, abuse, etc.)

In addition, people who witness or are dragged into these events, or who have family or other people close to them involved, also experience psychological trauma.

Therefore police, firefighters, military, etc. who are first responders to these kinds of events experience psychological trauma, as well.

■ Please visit and tell us if you are in a situation such as:

  • Paralyzed with shock immediately after losing or being separated from a loved one.
  • Feel like you’re living in a dark, deep hole of grief and can’t get yourself out.
  • Feel continued anxiety despite having moved forward in your life.
  • Have no one to talk to about your loss or psychological trauma and are left to suffer long hours by yourself.

We make diagnoses for normal grief, for which treatment is not necessary, and for prolonged grief disorder (PGD) and complicated grief, for which proactive treatment is required.

※Prolonged grief disorder (PGD) is recognized as a diagnosis by the two international standards of diagnostic criteria (DSM-5-TR, ICD-11).
